Item description
To
render support in the rolling out of last mile fiber to customer premises as
part of the FTTH Project or POC.
Key
responsibilities include the following:
Technical
a.
Providing onsite technical support, analyzing and
resolving problem areas associated with pushing the fiber strand from the curb to
the customer premises point.
b. Providing onsite installation and
support services as required per contract requirements.
c. Tracking and tending to onsite
problem detection and resolution.
2. Reporting
a. Recording tasks performed onsite, time
allocation in the work order management system, and completing mandatory
project forms and reports
b. Provide relevant report and documentation
to assist in resolving escalated faults to back office.
c. Provide reporting to customer and
internal management on technical issues.
1. Usage of tools developed to support
installation and site troubleshooting analysis.
2. Make recommendations to further
enhance troubleshooting and installation tools feature/functionality/capability
3. Develop and maintain installation
and troubleshooting procedures
4.
Represent the Company in a positive, professional
and enthusiastic manner when working with both external and internal customers.

The physical
demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative
of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job.

conduits on the outer and inner walls of the customer premises
4. a. b. c. 5. 6. Specific vision abilities required
by this job include ability to focus. Computer use is required on a daily
basis.

The employee must be able lift and handle equipment.
Education and Qualification
Requirements
Minimum Requirement

Matric
·
A+, N+
·
Associate’s Diploma from a
technical institution plus prior field support experience.
·
6 -12 months minimum experience in
technical support/cabling
Maximum Requirement
·
Experience in optical fiber cabling and splicing as
well as using an OTDR device will be advantageous
