Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Registered with SACPCMP
• Safety Diploma
• SAMTRAC

Duties:

• Fully carryout safety and administrative procedures daily.
• Ensure all Health & Safety activities are coordinated and implemented according to legal and other requirements.
• Ensure all dangerous areas are barricaded to ensure safe working conditions and to meet safety regulations.
• Responsible for site safety induction
• Oversee the projects to foster a safe & healthy work environment by identifying hazards,
addressing risks to health & safety, and putting appropriate safety controls in place.
• To ensure all employees adhere to workplace Health and Safety regulations to prevent accidents.
• All accidents and incidents to be reported, recorded, and actioned according to safety standards,
regulations, and requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable South African legislation.
• Ensure all employee medicals and required certificates are valid.

Knowledge:

• Excellent knowledge of legislations and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Proficient in MS Office
• Working knowledge of safety management information system
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills

Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the below:

• Experience in Electrical Rail Construction
• Report writing skills
• 5 years of experience in producing reports
• Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
