For many years now the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy has been running Saturday Drama Classes in Mitchell's Plain. The programme is very popular here and children come to develop confidence, self-esteem, communication and performance skills.
Our teachers are all experts in the field of drama and all fully trained in the latest techniques. The Academy follows an international drama programme in three different age groups: Lower Primary at 2pm, Upper Primary at 3pm and Youth Theatre at 4pm. Classes take place at the Indoor Sports Centre in Portlands.
Should students wish to take their talents further, the Academy's casting agency will promote the children for film, theatre and radio. Many of our students from Mitchell's Plain have done very well in these fields. One of the children was a presenter on Hackshack on SABC 3.
